Within the curriculum of visual and performing arts, learners are actively engaged as observers, organizers, creators, and evaluators. At the middle school level, instruction in art and general music continue; instrumental and choral music are offered for students who wish to hone their performance skills. At the high school level, students have the same opportunity to pursue courses in art, choral and instrumental music as well as music theory, dance, and theater. All elementary and middle school courses are aligned with the (Maryland State Curriculum for Fine Arts)high school courses are aligned with the Essential Learner Outcomes. All high school students are required to complete at least one credit in Fine Arts to receive a Courses offered at the high school include:
