3.01 Special Recognition: Ben Carson Scholars - First-time winners Jackson P. and Isabella R. were recognized. Students who have renewed their Ben Carson Scholar Status were also recognized.
3.02 Hero Award: Sponsored by the Anti-Bullying Committee and Six Flags. Alexis C. from Sudlersville Middle School was recognized for her willingness to stand up for her peers and stop negative behaviors at SMS.
3.03 Special Recognition: KI Cheerleaders - The KIHS Cheerleaders were recognized for winning their third consecutive state championship during the Winter 2017 season.
3.04 Special Recognition: Store Director Donna Benton and Assistant Store Director Patti Feifer were recognized for their $1,000 donation of ACME gift cards to QACPS during the Grand Re-Opening of ACME Centreville.
3.05 Energizer Bunny: Sponsored by Bayview Investment. April Quigley, P.E. Teacher at CHES, was recognized for being the heart of CHES and always motivating students to live a healthy life.
3.06 Difference Maker: Brenna A. from Centreville Middle School submitted an essay telling the Board of Education how her teacher Ms. Wingate makes a difference in her life.
3.07 Student Board Members: QACHS Member, Paige Todd, and KIHS Member, Anam Shah, were thanked for their service as Board of Education Members for the 2016-2017 school year.

6.01 Special Education Staffing Plan: Diane McGowan, Supervisor of Special Education, presents on the staffing needs, costs and data to support the special education students in Queen Anne's County. Mrs. McGowan hopes to create an annual plan that is aligned with COMAR regulations. Approved
6.02 FY16 Fund Balance: Robin Landgraf and Sid Pinder presented on the funds balance for Fiscal Year 2016 and provided a list of requests to use the remaining funds. Approved to send a letter to County Commissioners for transferring the funds to the construction funds to complete requested projects.
6.03 Grasonville Elementary Construction Update: Cara Viar Pullen presented on the construction timeline of GES. Groundbreaking Ceremony June 2nd. Other options for playground use if becomes an issue at the start of school next year. Noise distraction and safety is taken into consideration during construction. Fire alarm upgrade included in the project.

9.01 Policy - 1st Read - Field Trips (Presented by Supervisor of Instruction Julia Alley) and Curriculum Management (Presented by Supervisors of Instruction Tina Thomas and Rob Watkins): Approved. Drug and Alcohol-Free Policy Tabled to correct errors.
9.02 Textbook - 1st time before the Board: Science - Environmental Science A Global Concern, HMH Science Dimensions, Science and Global Issues Biology. Will be available at the Board of Education 202 Chesterfield Ave. Centreville, MD 21617 for public review.
